It's 2010, and we are on to the next one. New resolutions, new shoes, possibly new ideals and beliefs. The idea of the illuminatti is nothing new at all, but is a very intriguing idea. "I'm just an artist". That'd probably be Jay-Zs response to his brilliantly blasphemous "On to the Next One" video. I'm sure by now everyones talking about it, and it's obvious. The images and subliminal messages are overwhelming. From the outside, looking with blind eyes you see a dope ass video about nothing. But the halo over Jay-Z's head the entire video is a manifest symbol of not only being a God MC, but a Godbody, ridiculing the notions of reverence. To air an impious video on the Eve of the New Year for the masses to see is a very-very formidable and telling act. For a network like MTV to allow "On to the Next One" to be viewed by MILLIONS on yesterday shows such a strong hand on Jay's part. Throughout the video, the countless illuminatti symbols make you wonder. Is Jay-Z doing this because he wants to fuck with people, or does this guy, who has set so many trends, and influenced billions of people (as if he were a prophet) really worship something bigger than we can ever fathom? IDK. But the seemingly illogical video is interesting to look at. It's great. In all it's beauty, there is an underlying eeriness that wows you. The 'Dark Knight', the skulls, the flashing words "I always knew I'd be like this" (as if he sold himself) right after you see the illuminati bull symbol which represents the 5-point star, or the bullets and the rosary beads as he says, "I got a million ways to get it". For what? Why? Publicity, because 'you're Jay-Z and you can do what ever you want now', just for kicks? We may never know the truth. But would he make it that obvious if he really was something other than what we thought? Probably not. But either way, Jay is definitely keeping people intrigued. What a way to start the new year.
